Church History

Trinity Baptist Church began as the Westlake Southern Baptist Mission in January of 1958...The First Southern Baptist Church of Sharp Park(now the Pacifica Baptist Church) in cooperation with Associational Missionary, H.H. Stagg who was the Sponsor.  Reverend Charles S. Jennings was our first Pastor.  The Westlake auditorium was the first place service were held.

January 25, 1959 the mission was constituted, with 41 chartered members.  The property was located in Westlake and negotiated for in April with $20,000 allocated by the Home Mission Board and gifts form Church members.  In June of 1959 a former real estate office was purchased and renovated for Church purposes, with growth on the rise the need for more space was a necessity.  On March 7, 1964, with $1,400 in the building fund, ten men came out and the addition to the educational building was started.  Ground breaking ceremonies was held on May 10, 1964 for a new auditorium with construction getting on the way on May 25th, by now the average Sunday School attendance had grew to 72.

Down through the years, our Church has had a number of Pastors.  The Church's name has been changed from Westlake Southern Baptist to which is now Trinity Baptist.

On February 28, 1994, Trinity installed their current Pastor.  Also in the same year Trinity began to "RE-DREAM THE DREAM."  We are now in the process of making that dream with the help of the HOLY SPIRIT a reality.
